Shipping methods explained

Picking the right shipping method matters: cooled semen has a short viable window, and each option has different speed, cost, and reliability tradeoffs.

Overnight

Fastest standard option. FedEx or UPS overnight delivery in an Equitainer.

When to use
Use when your mare is at home in the US, you have time-sensitive insemination, and the destination has reliable overnight service.
Cost
Carrier rate (typically $200–$400) + Equitainer deposit + return shipping.
Timing
Ship today → arrive next morning. Order before the day's collection cutoff.

Counter-to-Counter (Fly)

Semen flies on a commercial passenger flight. Driver hand-off at airport counter.

When to use
Use when you need same-day delivery across long distances, or the destination doesn't have reliable overnight service.
Cost
Airline cargo fee + courier driver fees on both ends. Usually higher than overnight.
Timing
Same day. Earliest morning flight outbound, picked up at destination airport hours later.

Pickup

You or your vet picks up the chilled semen directly from Solo Select.

When to use
Use when you're local to Weatherford, TX or have a vet driving through the area.
Cost
No shipping cost. Just the collection and chute fees on your contract.
Timing
Available the same day collection occurs.

Courier

Local courier (driver) hand-delivers the semen.

When to use
Use for shorter regional deliveries where same-day arrival matters and a flight isn't practical.
Cost
Courier hourly + mileage. Quoted per route.
Timing
Same-day, route-dependent.
